Books, Milestone, Monday Update

Hello my lovely friends!

I’m so excited to announce that I have reached my first milestone of 100 followers! (101 to be exact…)

This blog that I started on a whim, has quickly turned into a favorite hobby of mine, and has helped me to appreciate and love books even more. I’m so glad to have been able to connect with all of you and to discover more facets to this corner of the internet. The two months I’ve been blogging have truly been a memorable time in my life and I’ve learned and experienced so much, (even with a month long hiatus in there somewhere)Β  Thank you for your support and love, and I can’t wait to expand and grow even more.

As most of you know, I will be heading off to college in five days. FIVE DAYS! Although I’m very excited, I’m also immensely nervous for the big change this entails. Through all of this, I’m excited to be bringing along with me, my love for books and blogging.

Do youΒ  have any advice for college freshman? What are some books I should cram in before leaving? Let me know in the comments below πŸ™‚

  1. Wooo, big times! First of all, congratulations on reaching 100 followers! You need to celebrate with a soda πŸ˜€
Then, college! Big changes. I hated my school years but it all changed when I enrolled at university. I have had my best times there. I don’t have any advice per say, I’ll only say that staying yourself is enough. Have fun, embrace the work and the change of pace, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself πŸ™‚

  2. If you want some good advice about starting college, pagesubound.wordpress.com has been doing a theme post every day. My advice: don’t panic! Attend classes even if they don’t take attendance, and stay on top of your assigned reading (it’s really easy to fall behind quickly). Take good notes and read them over when you get a chance (like, while watching TV or listening to music). It’s all about going, reading, and taking notes. That’s the big success secret. I’ve been on the Dean’s List the past two semesters, and that’s all I did. I’m a procrastinator when it comes to writing papers, but attendance is key. You feel like sleeping in one morning? Too bad. Go! It helps. I promise.
I wish you lots of success. I start on the 29th, and I graduate at the end of Fall. Be proud. You can do it: it’s like college without teachers knowing your name, so it helps a lot to participate in class discussion so the prof will remember you, and they are way more lenient when things come up if they know your name.
Ok, I’m done rambling. Just good luck! πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

    1. I have been reading their posts everyday! There’s some amazing advice that I’ll have to follow.. I’m even saving some of their posts for future reference πŸ™‚

I’ve heard that attending classes is a must even though many people say it’s not necessary.. Also, time management seems to be a problem for a lot of people now that we have more freedom!

I’ll have to remember that, and make it my mantra… Going, reading and taking notes. Congrats on being on the deans list! That’s truly amazing πŸ™‚

School officially begins on the 29th for me as well! I’ll just be heading out a week early for the orientation things they have for us.. Our move in day is just a week earlier for freshman I guess.. I bet you can’t wait to graduate, this is such an exciting time in your life as well πŸ™‚

Thank you for your rambling.. This is all so very helpful, and are things that I will be keeping in mind!

  3. Congrats! & enjoy college! take plenty of notes & attendance does help. Classs participation is often appreciated & I agree with TeacherofYa, once a professor knows your name they are more likely to be more lenient πŸ˜‰

  4. Congrats, and best of luck in college! I’ll be a sophomore this year so I was in your shoes only a year ago. It’s definitely nerve-racking at first, but once you start meeting people and settle into a routine with classes, everything seems to fall into place. Hope you have a great start to your freshman year!! πŸ™‚

  5. Congrats! That’s a great achievement πŸ™‚
A good advice for college is to work hard but remember to relax and enjoy your time there too. And remember to meet new people and make friends too. They’ll be the ones to make your time there memorable πŸ™‚
